Start Date: May 2025  Compensation: $17-19/hr

Foulkeways at Gwynedd is a 130-acre senior living community just outside of Philadelphia in Gwynedd, PA. Home to over 400 residents, the campus includes trails, public garden areas, several courtyards, water features and meadows. An extensive forest restoration project is ongoing with the removal of invasives and planting of native trees and understory plants. Responsibilities/Duties

• Work with the Horticulturist and other grounds staff to maintain the grounds and public garden areas. 
• Tasks include planting, weeding, pruning, watering and other tasks as needed. 
• Be able to use small hand tools and learn to operate small equipment such as leaf blowers and kubota carts.
• Must be able to complete the physical duties of the job such as bending, squating, kneeling and standing for periods of time. 
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions. 
• The intern will select and complete an independent project to present at the conclusion of the internship. 

Qualifications/Requirements

• Open to traditional and non-traditional students, current enrollment is not necessary.  
• Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping or public gardening is helpful but not required. 
• Coursework in horticulture or related fields is ideal.  
• A passion for plants is a must!
