Job Title: Entry Level Project Manager in Landscape Design
Todd Haiman Landscape Design (THLD) is a small, collaborative firm specializing in urban residential garden design. Based in New York City, our projects primarily focus on rooftops and terraces in upscale apartments and gardens in townhouse properties. We also design landscapes for vacation homes in the Northeast.

Our mission is to create original, holistic outdoor spaces that reflect a sense of place, integrate sustainable and functional solutions, and address clients’ needs with imaginative, site-specific designs. We collaborate with architects, engineers, fabricators, contractors, and artists to plan and execute our projects.

Responsibilities/Duties

Project Management

  • Manage project timelines using Gantt charts and Monday.com project management software.
  • Coordinate with contracted professionals to arrange meetings, oversee deliverables, and schedule installations.
  • Maintain clear and organized project documentation, including meeting notes, emails, budgets, and design archives.
  • Communicate progress updates to clients and assist with decision-making.
  • Source and order plants from wholesale nurseries.

Design

  • Collaborate on garden designs that incorporate native plants, address site-specific challenges, and meet client needs.
  • Conduct site visits to record measurements, take detailed notes, and document with photographs.
  • Use SketchUp to model schematic designs and create compelling client presentations in Keynote.
  • Produce and revise design drawing sets in AutoCAD.
  • Request and manage RFPs from professionals such as architects, engineers, masons, and lighting specialists.
  • Demonstrate horticultural knowledge through site-specific planting design.

Marketing & Social Media

  • Write bi-monthly blog posts and contribute to Substack content.
  • Document and share project developments through social media storytelling.
  • Co-manage the company’s presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Apple Office Suite (Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
  • Knowledge of native plants in the Northeast.
  • Experience in project management or coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail.
  • Horticultural knowledge and experience
  • Experience with social media engagement
  • Understanding of SEO marketing strategies

Education & Experience

  • 1–3 years of professional experience.
  • Degree in landscape design, landscape architecture, or architecture (BLA/MLA preferred). Candidates with relevant experience or training are also welcome to apply.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and expertise.
