Start Date: Immediately  Compensation: $30-$35hr

Red Fern Brooklyn is an Industry City-based landscape design studio specializing in sustainable residential garden design, native plant installation, and regenerative maintenance. We are seeking an experienced Ornamental Horticulturalist to join our team

Ideal candidates have an interest in their work, other people and our environment.  They will spend their days with the maintenance team overseeing the horticultural integrity of our gardens.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Oversee the work of gardeners on maintenance visits and propose plans to develop these gardens in a sustainable, ecologically sound direction
• Identify plant pests or disease and set up treatment
• Interact with clients with an approachable, informative and warm demeanor
• Oversee the watering and organization of plants in the company yard every morning and afternoons as needed. Making sure plant materials are in the van for the jobs of the day.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have professional gardening experience along with plant identification, disease/pest identification, and exposure directing small groups of people.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems and watering techniques
• Must be able to carry up to 50lbs and able to work in an outdoor setting for 8hrs a day.
• Be able to drive cargo vans, Sprinters, and box trucks. Clean driving record.
