Are you passionate about plants and eager to bring a touch of nature to the bustling heart of New York City?
My City Plants is on the hunt for an enthusiastic Indoor Plant Care Specialist to nurture and maintain vibrant indoor plants across a variety of indoor spaces in NYC, with a primary focus on Manhattan.

Job Location: This position involves frequent travel using public transportation around NYC, primarily in Manhattan.
Office Location: our studio is conveniently located near the 7, E, M, and G trains in Long Island City, Queens.
Schedule: Part-time (16 - 32 + hours per week), flexible weekdays.

Job Hours: Part-time, with flexible hours. Commitment to a regular weekday schedule is required, as plant care requires consistent attention. Services are provided Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Compensation: Starting at $25 per hour, with the potential to earn up to $35 per hour based on performance.

** A one-month training period is compensated at $20 per hour.
Trial Period: 3 months.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Regularly visit customer sites (offices, retail stores, restaurants, hotels, etc.) in the NYC area.
  • Perform plant maintenance tasks, including watering, pruning, cleaning, and replacing plants as needed.
  • Carry and manage plant care materials, with occasional lifting and ladder use.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with customers.
  • Document maintenance visits with notes and reports for future reference.
  • Ensure a clean and orderly customer site, leaving no water, waste, or debris behind.
  • Assist with plant arranging, preparation for delivery, and loading/unloading of plants and planters.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance and wear clean, professional attire appropriate for the workplace.


 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Previous experience in indoor plant care or landscaping is preferred.
  • Knowledge of indoor plants.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using a smartphone, navigating apps, and operating a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain active throughout the day.
  • Interest in and willingness to learn more about plant care.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards work and people.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize tasks.
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Reliability in attendance and task completion.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.

Additional Information

Note: Indoor plant care requires strength, patience, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Managing 500+ plants is significantly different from caring for a few at home.
