Blue in Green Gardens LLC has over 25 years of experience designing, installing, and maintaining gorgeous and unique landscapes on rooftops, terraces, in back yards, and public spaces in New York City. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hardworking fellow plant-lovers to join our already amazing team of gardeners. 

Responsibilities/Duties

Here is an idea of the daily duties expected from a gardener with BIGG:

• Working with our team to perform seasonal plantings in established gardens, installing new gardens, and maintaining them through the season.
• Using existing plant knowledge and working with team members to locate perennials, annuals, trees, and shrubs from various wholesale nurseries.
• Effectively communicating the state of various gardens with other team members in person, or via video or photo sharing and emails to ensure their health and aesthetic.
• Maintaining the utmost level of detail in the landscape (as well as the interiors) in our clients’ homes and gardens.
• Understanding the job expectations and coming to work prepared for the day.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs, and perform laborious physical tasks on a daily basis, in all weather conditions.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Strong plant and weed identification skills
• A basic knowledge of plant diseases and insect pests, as well as IPM strategies to combat them
• Confidence working independently and also with other team members
• One or more years of horticulture/urban gardening experience
• Good communication skills and basic computer knowledge (such as navigating a google calendar, updating shared spreadsheets as needed, and returning emails in a timely fashion).

 Preferred

• A valid driver license and good knowledge of daily NYC n
