Start Date: 4/1/25 Compensation: $35/hr
Maintain a residential property of two acres in Greenwich CT
Property is highly designed, requiring an unusually particular level of maintenance and knowledge of plant material. There are both formal areas including garden rooms, parterres, allees and fountains as well as a vegetable garden. The informal gardens surround three sides of the property and include trees, shrubs and perennials.
All of these would be under your responsibility either hands on or working with outside industry professionals.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Install and maintain seasonal plants including staking, deadheading and feeding
- Weed all gardens
- Prune and trim bushes, perennials and small trees (up to 16ft.)
- Monitor and maintain health of plants and work with IPM company once issues are identified
- Monitor irrigation system for correct moisture and fix micro drip of broken
- Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
- Manage outside industry professionals maintaining other aspects of property
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience as a gardener
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with garden design
- Ability to manage the industry professionals who are maintaining trees, lawn, irrigation and IPM
- Knowledge of pest management and soil management (synthetic and natural fertilizers)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50lbs.) and work on your feet
- A love of outdoors and plant life
Additional Information
This is a seasonal job from mid March to mid December, 30 hrs/week, flexible schedule, determined by you.
