We are a well- established company in New York City and are seeking an Account Manager. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing client accounts, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining strong, positive relationships with new and existing clientele. You will work closely with our management team to ensure that all projects and services are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the high standards our clients expect. The ideal candidate must have over 3 years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Manage end to end process for client projects from initial consultation and design to project completion 
  • Leverage your horticulture expertise to guide clients in selecting appropriate plants, designs, and irrigation solutions tailored to their specific needs
  • Work with clients to develop tailored landscaping plans and help them understand the benefits of sustainable, efficient gardening and irrigation practices
  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of landscaping and irrigation projects, ensuring that all elements are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the desired specifications
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess ongoing projects, make recommendations for improvements, and ensure the health and viability of plants and systems
  • Provide ongoing horticultural advice and solutions to clients, including plant care, seasonal maintenance, pest management, and irrigation adjustments.
  • Work with management to prepare proposals, service agreements, and budgets with management for client review
  • Resolve client concerns and issues related to horticulture, design, and project execution in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure the coordination of resources, including plant procurement, landscaping equipment, and irrigation systems
  • Identify opportunities to offer additional services, such as seasonal plantings, garden maintenance, and irrigation system upgrades
  • Keep thorough records of client interactions, service agreements, and horticultural advice provided

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of horticulture, including plant care, gardening practices, and pest management
  • Experience designing and implementing landscaping projects with a focus on plant selection, irrigation, and maintenance
  • Ability to work with clients to tailor horticultural solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional goals.
  • Familiarity with local flora and the ability to recommend plants suitable for New York City’s climate and soil conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and clients effectively
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage client and office budgets, and monitor project progress
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for the horticulture and landscaping industry

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in account management or client-facing roles, preferably in the horticulture, landscaping, or irrigation industries.
  • Experience with gardening, irrigation, or similar business areas
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently, but also a collaborative team player and committed to maintaining positive engagements with clients and colleagues

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field is preferred
