Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $72,800
The Account Manager is a proficient horticulturist and manager of people who serves as the point person for client sites and acts as a liaison between horticulturists and management. They are responsible for training new staff and assessing and directing the performance and activities of Horticulturists and Site Leads. Account Managers are also responsible for communicating with clients to ensure the health of plant installations and happiness of the customer with Greenery NYC services.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication, including scheduling visits and ensuring security access.
- Take ultimate responsibility for designated sites, ensuring plant health and aesthetics by coordinating necessary supplies and replacements.
- Model and communicate company policies to team members, fostering a cohesive, positive work environment.
- Assist in training new Site Managers, Site Leads, and Interior Horticulturists, developing training materials and promoting best practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting automated irrigation systems and guiding interior horticulturists through maintenance processes.
- Conduct on-site assessments for potential client sites, develop plant care plans, and provide hands-on plant care as needed.
- Create proposals and estimates for client enhancements using Aspire portal.
- Provide direction and support to interior horticulturists and site leads through various communication channels.
- Review maintenance notes, address inquiries, and ensure follow-up actions are completed promptly.
- Manage schedules for direct reports using G Suite and Aspire Platform, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Conduct weekly one-on-one check-ins with direct reports to monitor site progress and workload.
- Proficiently use and instruct direct reports on company systems (Monday.com, Google Suite, Aspire, Hydra wise, Greenery Unlimited App).
- Eligible for a commission on plants and services sold to existing clients.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Seasoned Manager with expertise in interior/exterior plant care, pest control, and preventive measures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge communication between teams and upper management.
- Deep understanding of interior spaces and commonly used plants, with the ability to contribute to design decisions and plant selection.
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and dedication to supporting the growth of both Greenery NYC and its horticulture staff.
- Aspire Experience a plus!
Physical Demands: - Most work tasks are performed in a space where the environmental conditions vary widely.
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the property or other areas on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. routinely.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to perform daily tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.
