Eat Your Garden: Edimentals and the Art of Beautiful, Edible Landscapes

In his debut book Eat Your Garden, garden designer Harry Holding makes the case for edimentals – plants that are both edible and ornamental – and for a way of gardening that refuses to separate food from beauty. In this talk, he shares the thinking behind the book: what edimentals are, where they already thrive in gardens and regenerative food systems, and how to design with them using an ecological, layered approach to planting.

Drawing on his RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens and other inspirational projects, Harry shows how beautiful, productive, low-input landscapes can work at every scale, from a windowsill to the public realm. The talk closes closer to home, with the Bronx River Foodway and Nathan Hunter-Bowman, the New York community project that concludes the book and shows how food can be a generous gateway to nature and to bringing people together.

🚨 Registration is required. This workshop is FREE for Metro Hort members and $20 for non members.
