MHG Meetings

Sponsored By: Metro Hort Group

Audience:

Designers, Account Managers and Business Owners—Anyone who encounters tough spaces, with limited light or water, that would benefit from a “green look.”

Program:
Synthetics of the past didn’t have the best reputation in the landscape industry, right? We’ve all seen the over-the-top colors and greenery turning blue. Nobody wants to replace live plants on a wide scale—but for niche applications, we want to share exciting progress and new products that has been made in this field.

If you have encountered tough spaces for plants or have tried and tried to establish plants in a dark courtyard area, this seminar is for you!

Ed Glenn, founder and owner of New Growth Designs and Douglas Orians, Director of Sales, with an introduction by Don Sussman, Principal of Garden and Structures Solution, a consulting firm to the landscape industry, will discuss how and where to design with synthetic plants, what kinds of products are available, and how to use them.

You’ll learn innovate ways to expand and grow your business by designing with synthetics!
We hope you’ll join us!
Our Presenters:
Ed Glenn has extensive experience in the fresh flower industry. As a floral designer and event planner, he realized the value of, and need for, high-quality artificial flowers and plants that could be used together with fresh-cut material. The logistics and demands of many events were such that fresh cut flowers and greenery would not remain fresh for the duration, without constant replacements. Therefore, his solution was to mix fresh and faux together. It is a practical solution, and with high-quality materials, it is almost impossible to spot the faux amongst the fresh.

Unable to find high quality artificials, Ed began designing and building his own line. New Growth Designs grew a loyal following and after a few years, existing customers and others who appreciated the quality of New Growth Designs Indoor Florals began asking about an Outdoor line. At first, Ed dismissed the idea, but with more and more conversations over a couple of years, he began thinking seriously about building a line of natural, life-like, high-quality Synthetic Outdoor materials.

Landscapes have challenges that require creative solutions; therefore, there is a need for natural looking synthetics that provide innovative solutions for challenged growing environments. New Growth Designs is providing these solutions.

Douglas Orians brings an extensive Sales and Marketing background in outdoor products to New Growth Designs. As Director of Sales, Douglas works daily with Landscape Architects, Designers, and Installers to provide solutions to their projects. Using our vast array of Enduraleaf® products, he enjoys addressing the needs of their customers.
