The garden is really coming alive in May and so is our schedule. Untermyer Gardens is open for visitors and there are tours and classes for all ages. First of all, Mon-Thurs we are open 9am -6 pm. No reservations are needed. Free of charge. The picnic area is open but not the water fountain.

Fri-Sun the garden is open 12-6 and timed reservations are required via the website untermyergardens.org because there is still a limit on how many people can be there at any one time.

Tours (mainly suitable for ADULTS): 90 minute tours. Bring water (water fountain is not open) and wear sturdy closed toe shoes. You must make advance reservations on the website.

  • Sun May 2 11am-12:30 pm President’s tour (Conservancy founder Steve Byrns) $25 per person
  • Sunday May 9 11-12:30 History tour $10 per person
  • Sunday May 16 11-12:30 Garden/horticulture tour $10 per person
  • Sunday May 23 11-12:30 History tour $10
  • Sunday May 30 11-12:30 history tour $10

Family Adventure Tours (new this year). Suitable for ages 7-12 and at least one accompanying parent. 60 minutes long. The kids are $10 each, parents and under 2 years old are free. Advance reservations required. There are 3 different routes that will rotate on a weekly basis. Check the website re level of difficulty/stroller compatibility of the different tours.

  • Sat May 8 10 am Trees of Untermyer Gardens led by Steve Byrns. First in a series of 3 tree tours. $20
  • Sat May 15 10-12 Line drawing class, all levels $40
  • Sat May 22 10-12 Line drawing class $40
  • Sun May 16 Sunset Yoga class 7-8 pm all levels $25
  • Sun May 23 Sunset Yoga class 7-8 pm $25
