Stories of Plants and Place: Horticultural Narrative From Private Gardens to Botanic Gardens
The cultural and natural history of plants can inspire design narratives that are at once poetic, rich in information, and environmentally responsible. Woltz will show a broad range of ecologically resilient projects to illustrate how he and his firm use plants to create compelling narratives. In an era of nature deficit disorder, Woltz seeks to rebuild connections to nature through a public knowledge of plants and their cultural legacy.
Thomas Woltz, an architect and landscape architect, is the owner and principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects, a 35-person firm with offices in New York, San Francisco and Charlottesville, VA.
