Join Robbin Moran, pteridologist at the New York Botanical Garden, for a journey to the ferns. Robbin will talk about several common fern species in horticulture, how ferns grow and reproduce, and some unusual uses and adaptations of ferns.

Robbin Moran, Nathaniel Lord Britton Curator of Botany at the New York Botanical Garden, has written four books and over 180 scientific articles about ferns. He does field research in the American tropics—mostly Central America and the Andean countries—and he regularly teaches courses about ferns and plant systematics for the Organization for Tropical Studies in Costa Rica. He holds an M.S. in Botany from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
