Richard Jaynes - Underused Trees and Shrubs
MHG Meetings
Sponsored By: Metro Hort Group
There are so many wonderful garden plants that are hardy in our area, and yet remain underused or largely unknown. Dick Jaynes’ talk will focus on these plants, including, of course, some of his own mountain laurel introductions. Richard Jaynes, known for the propagation and breeding of Kalmia, Castanea, Pieris and Rhododendron, worked at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station for 25 years. His book on laurel, Mountain Laurel and Related Species is in its third edition; he has run the Broken Arrow Nursery since 1984.
