Margery Daughtery - Horticultural Health: How to Recognize & Combat Plant Diseases

Margery will discuss diagnosis, prevention and management of diseases such as powdery mildew, rusts and root rots for annuals, herbaceous perennials, tree and shrubs, focusing on those that are common problems in New York landscapes. Biological and cultural methods for disease management will be emphasized. Margery Daughtrey is a Senior Extension Associate with the Department of Plant Pathology, Cornell University. She has conducted a research program on the management of diseases of ornamental plants since 1978 at Cornell’s Long Island Horticultural Research and Extension Center in Riverhead. In 2007 Margery was awarded the Gold Medal of Horticulture from the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association.
