Marcel is a self-taught artist from Provence. He is inspired by beautiful landscapes world-wide and vibrant colors that make his work decorative and easy to live with. In addition, he has numerous still-lifes in his collection. Marcel has also lived in Algeria and Switzerland. He currently resides in Stamford with his wife, Vivian. Over the years since moving to the States in 1980 with his wife and small son, Marcel has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in: Sono, Norwalk, CT; Stamford, CT; Marblehead, MA; Waveny House, New Canaan, CT; Port Chester, NY; as well as abroad in France and Switzerland.
Marcel describes his work, “What I express is not what you will feel. Each person approaches art on his own. It doesn’t matter at all what the viewer sees, and the artist may not be conscious of what he’s doing. The viewer will see what he thinks he sees.” Marcel sees himself as an expressionist rather than an impressionist.
Marcel had a stroke in 2013 and has difficulty speaking. Thankfully his art remains a wonderful outlet for him to be able to express himself. He also has many canvases in his collection available for purchase.
