Magic in the Landscape: Building Rock Gardens

While creating ponds, waterfalls, and other rock structures, Luke explores the conventional, the unconventional, and the unique, in search of a perfect solution. He will share his techniques in the design phase as well as the installation/build phase and include examples of how he overcomes the challenges that develop along the way.

Luke Kreye started by accompanying his father and grandfather as they installed gardens for the family landscape business. With a degree from SUNY Farmingdale in Ornamental Horticulture, Luke became president of Emil Kreye & Son, Inc. in 1997 where he carries on the tradition of a company known for their groundbreaking use of rock and water in the landscape. Their work includes such notables as Boscobel Restoration Manor, JP Humes Japanese Stroll Garden and Long House Reserve.
