ETHAN DROPKIN - Urban Landscape Inspirations from Native Plant Communities
MHG Meetings
Sponsored By: Metro Hort Group
Ethan Dropkin
Associate LARRY WEANER LANDSCAPE ASSOCIATES
Ethan will speak about native plant communities as inspirational analogues to create urban landscapes that:
- are functional and aesthetic without resorting to non-native exotics;
- survive and thrive in difficult urban growing conditions;
- give our cities a vegetative and visual grounding in a local aesthetic;
- intentionally connect our city landscapes to the ecological systems of which they are inherently a part.
Ethan received a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Vermont in 2006. In 2013 he was awarded a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University followed by a Masters of Professional Studies in Horticulture in 2014, also from Cornell.
