Bill will present some promising new beauties and although most true grasses are sun-loving, he will also describe many grass relatives that thrive in part shade. He will discuss how ease of culture, long season interest, and animal and pest resistance help to make grasses so popular. He will also offer a wealth of choices to integrate and utilize the “grassy effect” in home gardens, commercial sites, and public gardens.

Bill Kolvek is owner of BKP, a wholesale perennial nursery in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Predominately catering to landscape contractors and perennial garden designers, they also provide non-profits with affordable, healthy, native plants for rain garden and xeriscape projects. An active member of the Perennial Plant Association, Bill lectures and teaches about perennials and ornamental grasses at NYBG, Bergen Community College, and many other trade and civic organizations.
