Margery Daughtrey
Diseases of Perennials
Diseases on herbaceous perennials cause unhappiness in the garden and financial loss in the nursery. Margery’s talk will focus on identification of some of the most important contagious diseases and provide insight on disease prevention and management using biological, chemical and cultural tools. Whether you’re fighting powdery mildew on phlox or root rot on gaillardia, being better informed is the first step for mastering a disease. Margery Daughtery newest book, Diseases of Herbaceous Perennials, will be published this spring. She specializes in the diagnosis and control of diseases of ornamental plants at Cornell University’s Department of Plant Pathology at the Long Island Horticultural Research & Extension Center in Riverhead.
