Jan Moyer

Landscape Lighting for Maximum Impact

Effective landscape lighting is a question of mastering technical issues, and choosing the right lamps is the first step in creating the desired atmosphere. Jan will review all the details—candlepower, beamspread, standard voltage compared to HID sources, the low voltage work horses and the new LED sources. She will share tips on installation, including fixture location, shielding and aiming angles to limit glare and light trespass, and fixture construction to avoid corrosion and maximize longevity. Jan Moyer, IALD, is an internationally known landscape lighting designer with 33 years experience working on public and private projects. She has taught at UC Berkeley and Rutgers. Her books include The Landscape Lighting Book and She Paints with Light.
